Jaclyn Mitchinson

Jaclyn specializes in working with children, youth and their families. She has extensive experience in working with children and youth who are experiencing depression, anxiety, emotion regulation issues, self-harm and suicidal ideation. Jaclyn takes pride in providing tools to these individuals and their families who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Jaclyn is also passionate about working with young adults who are experiencing challenges related to life transitions, stress, depression, anxiety issues, past trauma, and relationship challenges. Jaclyn provides a safe environment for her clients to explore the core of the issues and help them on their journey towards wellness and health. Having experienced the counselling process herself, she knows how helpful counselling support can be for individuals and families.   

Jaclyn’s clinical practice centers on her ability to be empathetic, open-minded, kind, curious, and non-judgmental. She prioritizes creating an emotionally and physically safe space throughout the counselling process. Her philosophy is that each person has their own unique journey and requires their own treatment modality. The theoretical that she utilizes include Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and Expressive Play & Art Therapy.

Jaclyn offers counselling services in the Burnaby, Port Moody and North Vancouver offices.
