Jocelyn Huerta

(She/Her)

Jocelyn is a warm, gentle, and patient clinician. She treats her clients with kindness, compassion, and respect. She works with children, youth, young adults, and seniors who are dealing with change, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, immigration, and cultural adjustments. She fosters self-discovery and personal growth in her clients through her work. She takes pride in helping them develop new emotional regulation tools, mindfulness practices, and assertiveness skills. Using a strength-based approach, she strives to help each client find their purpose and embrace life more fully and authentically.

In addition to talk therapy, Jocelyn practices art therapy through which she assists her clients in finding their voice when they cannot find the words to describe their experiences. As a result, her adult clients gain a sense of calm and light-heartedness, and her child clients gain the freedom to express themselves through art. Moreover, she works with the parents of her child clients to better understand their children’s needs and to foster healthier attachments with their children.

Jocelyn completed her Master’s in Counselling and Art Therapy Program. Her counselling approach integrates various modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Practices. Above all, Jocelyn is committed to building powerful relationships with her clients. She believes that it is her role to empower each client to take an active role in their treatment while unconditionally supporting and encouraging them through the entire process
