Jenny’s kind and compassionate nature helps her clients feel seen and cared for. She aims to consistently create a space that is warm, authentic, supportive, and safe. Jenny believes each client has great strengths and wisdom in their lived experiences. She helps her clients tune into their emotions and build a deeper connection to their authentic selves. With curiosity, gentleness, respect, collaboration, and non-judgment, Jenny aims to always meet her clients where they are in their unique and individual journey and work with them to feel empowered to reach their goals.

Jenny believes in tailoring her therapeutic approach to each client’s unique and diverse needs through a holistic and integrative approach. She works with clients who have experienced various types of trauma, such as intimate partner violence, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and developmental trauma. Jenny also works with clients who have experienced complex and chronic trauma. Her experience in supporting survivors of gender-based violence has helped solidify her trauma-informed and intersectional approach to counselling.

She also works with adults who experience anxiety and depression using a combination of mindfulness practices, somatic techniques, and self-compassion exercises, tailoring her approach to meet each client’s unique needs. She draws on the modalities of EMDR, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Somatic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

In addition to working with adults, Jenny works with children and youth. She helps her children and youth clients feel encouraged and at ease by providing her genuine interest and incorporating play and arts-based activities. Jenny helps children develop skills for managing their emotions. She also works collaboratively with children, youth, and their parents to navigate life challenges, including school-related difficulties, grief and loss, family transitions, and parental separation.

Jenny feels most energized and grounded when she is in nature, whether that is trail running, hiking, biking, or being by a lake, river, or ocean. She feels grateful to have this opportunity to connect with the outdoors in the beautiful town of Squamish. A lifelong learner and traveller, Jenny is also passionate about reading, reflecting, and practicing yoga.
