Danielle Burgess

Danielle believes that the relationship between the client and therapist is at the heart of our evolution in the therapeutic process. She considers it to be an honour to join clients on their therapeutic journey, and has great respect for the courage and resilience that clients exhibit as they enter into a therapeutic relationship. Danielle draws on her clients’ strengths to help them discover the path toward a life worth living.

Danielle has experience working with individuals who are working through life challenges related to personal injuries, as well as with people who are living with trauma, anxiety, and depression. Danielle is particularly passionate about supporting those clients who have experienced childhood abuse and neglect and those who are impacted by traumas, dissociation, codependency, and abusive relationships.

Danielle holds a Master’s in Social Work, which has helped to foster an awareness of the social and societal factors that impact her clients. She draws from internal family systems, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and feminist theories in her counselling process with her clients.

Over the past few years, Danielle has been helping injured workers of various backgrounds to navigate their recovery and she is now ready to return to clinical work as a counselling practicum student.
