Melika truly cherishes each and every client with her genuine and gentle approach. She facilitates an atmosphere in which her clients recognize their self-worth, strengths, and potentials. She assists clients with developing new skills to become the best versions of themselves. This empowers them to realize their inner power and resiliency in order to overcome their unique challenges.

Melika works with children, youth, adults, and seniors dealing with trauma (sexual abuse/assault; ICBC accidents; illness); loss (death, grief, divorce, life transitions; immigration; Addiction; job displacement; career changes); mental health issues (anxiety, depression, anger issues, PTSD); and psychotic, neurotic and personality disorders (OCD, OCPD, schizophrenia). She also helps people to elevate their self-esteem and pursue a journey of personal growth. She enjoys helping her clients in developing confidence, assertiveness and self-compassion.

Melika is resourceful and provides effective strategies for clients tailored to their individual situation. This includes various modalities such as Art Therapy (no artistic skills are required), Narrative Therapy, EMDR, AEDP, Existential therapy, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal family system, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and transpersonal psychology.

Melika has experienced different personal challenges that led her to seek counselling, which resulted in great benefits and healing for herself. This inspired her to pursue this practice as a career and to make a difference in the lives of her clients by fostering positive transformation. Melika sees it as her life purpose to support her clients to gain a new sense of hope and meaning.

Melika holds a Master’s (MA) in Counselling: Art Therapy Program (MCP-AT) from Adler University. She also holds a BA and second MA in Clinical Psychology.
