She tailors her approach to fit the unique needs of each client and uses modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches. Amara is specialized in helping clients going through life transitions, experiencing grief and loss, and dealing with physical injuries. She has experience working with youth and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. These issues can be triggered by lack of boundaries and/or inability to recognize and express emotions.

Amara has experienced the counselling process as a client herself. She can appreciate the courage it takes to be vulnerable and the reward of continuing to grow and evolve as a human. She loves being outside in nature and can’t live without her daily walks and cups of tea. She has a personal passion for writing and is a poet at heart.
