Clients often describe Begum as warm, sincere, and deeply compassionate. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and supported. With an emphasis on authenticity, cultural humility, and clients’ strengths and values, Begum helps individuals gain clarity, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward healing at their own pace. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in respect for each client’s unique journey. Clinically, Begum specializes in culturally sensitive trauma treatment and has extensive experience supporting adult survivors of childhood abuse, intergenerational trauma, and other complex trauma presentations—whether physical, emotional, sexual, or related to combat.

She supports individuals and couples navigating grief, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, attachment wounds, PTSD, and substance use. Begum draws from a range of evidence-based approaches within a trauma-informed, biopsychosocial framework, including EMDR, Somatic Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method. She also works closely with Indigenous communities and has served as a clinician on-reserve. Her practice is LGBTQ2S+ friendly, and she is committed to creating a space where individuals of all identities feel safe and respected.

Outside the therapy room, Begum has a deep love for animals and nature, which inspired her move to Squamish.
